PC Gamer Magazine

PC Gamer magazine have expressed an interest in doing a 3D gaming article. They asked me if I would like to help. It's been one of my favourite PC magazines for many years, so of course I said yes.

Painkiller - Overdose 'Final Thoughts' & 'Highlights'

Overall Overdose was a brilliant experience in 3D. The models we're superb, crisp, clear and the effects we're stunning. Some of the highlights for me we're the incredible 3D effects like explosions, smoke trials and light sources. You really need to see them in fullscreen animated glory to appreciate them. The stills here do not give them the justice they deserve. A lot of attention to detail has gone into the incredible models, and you have to give the developers a lot of credit for this.... if you think about it they design everything in 2D and can only image what they would look like in the game. Hopefully they will visit this blog and see some of their creations in full stunning 3D.

3 'Wow Factor' moments that spring to mind are:
1. The cardboard cutout mobs in the 'Studio' level
2. Looking out the window and watching the dog fights in 'Air Combat'
3. 3D blood.
